Glazing Estimator

Description

• Attend pre‑bid site meetings to prepare accurate estimates
• Analyze and interpret project plans, specifications, and details
• Perform material, labour, and equipment take‑offs for single‑scope and multi‑scope projects
• Follow up on project bids and act as tender lead
• Review contracts and quotes for accuracy and write work orders
• Maintain a directory of product suppliers
• Communicate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients at all project levels
• Stay informed on new materials and techniques by attending trade shows and seminars
• Participate in initial handoff meetings and post‑project reviews
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers, including client appreciation outings
• Build rapport with internal departments and clients
• Visit job sites to conduct estimating site reviews and safety evaluations

Requirements

• 2–3 years of commercial glazing estimating experience
• Architectural Technology, Construction Engineering Technologies diploma, Estimating certificate, or equivalent education/experience
• Proficiency with MS Office and BlueBeam
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to work quickly in a team environment and multitask
• Superior time‑management to meet tight deadlines
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Solution‑focused, team‑oriented attitude with effective interpersonal skills
