Key responsibilities include on‑site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic security equipment, conducting site surveys, configuring hardware and software, and ensuring system functionality. The technician must follow safety plans, review design documentation, track project metrics, manage tools and material inventories, lead daily safety meetings, and execute PITCO plans for testing and installation. Additional duties involve installing raceways and equipment, terminating and testing cabling, configuring network devices, performing quality control inspections, leading commissioning activities, and mentoring crew members while maintaining clear communication with project teams and customers.

• Perform on‑site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of electronic security systems.
• Conduct site surveys, configure hardware/software, and test systems for proper operation.
• Follow project safety plans (JHA, AHA, PFW) and enforce M.C. Dean policies.
• Review design documentation and assess constructability of drawing packages.
• Track project metrics and participate in weekly resource allocation meetings.
• Verify accurate time‑sheet charges and complete detailed work documentation.
• Manage tool inventory, conduct inspections, and coordinate material ordering.
• Lead daily ORM meetings, ensure safety compliance, and file accident/incident reports.
• Create and execute PITCO plans for high‑quality testing and installation.
• Install raceways, cabling, equipment racks, enclosures, and panels per industry standards.
• Terminate, test, and configure electronic, network, and IT devices.
• Configure base switches, servers, workstations and troubleshoot programmable components.
• Perform QC inspections, follow checklists, and document findings.
• Install and maintain field devices, test system components, and resolve copper/fiber issues.
• Lead commissioning activities and represent M.C. Dean in owner/design team meetings.
• Provide mentorship, constructive feedback, and encourage innovation within the crew.
• Communicate effectively with project teams, trades, and customers.
• Plan manpower, material procurement, staging, and resource allocation for assignments.

Requirements

Candidates must be eligible for a Public Trust clearance and U.S. citizenship, and hold a high school diploma or GED combined with military electronics training, an accredited technician program, or an electrical apprenticeship. At least six years of electronics installation and maintenance experience on multiple systems is required, along with strong oral, written, and presentation skills, and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred qualifications include vendor certifications for IDS, ACS, CCTV systems and OSHA 30 certification.

The position requires physical abilities such as lifting and moving objects up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, scaffolds, or aerial lifts up to 60 ft, and performing repetitive tasks like walking, squatting, crawling, and reaching overhead. Candidates must have good vision (corrected if needed), color perception, hearing, and the ability to communicate effectively in English, as well as the skill to recognize potential problems before they occur.

• Obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Hold HS diploma/GED with military electronics training or accredited technician/apprenticeship credentials.
• Possess at least 6 years of electronics installation/maintenance experience on multiple systems.
• Demonstrate strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
• Maintain valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; may use company vehicle.
• Preferred: vendor certifications in IDS, ACS, CCTV systems (e.g., CCURE, Lenel, Bosch) and OSHA 30 certification.
• Physical: lift/move objects up to 50 lb, climb ladders/scaffolds up to 60 ft, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to see in color, hear, communicate in English, and recognize potential problems.
