Key responsibilities include on‑site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic security equipment, conducting site surveys, configuring hardware and software, and ensuring system functionality. The technician must follow safety plans, review design documentation, track project metrics, manage tools and material inventories, lead daily safety meetings, and execute PITCO plans for testing and installation. Additional duties involve installing raceways and equipment, terminating and testing cabling, configuring network devices, performing quality control inspections, leading commissioning activities, and mentoring crew members while maintaining clear communication with project teams and customers.
Candidates must be eligible for a Public Trust clearance and U.S. citizenship, and hold a high school diploma or GED combined with military electronics training, an accredited technician program, or an electrical apprenticeship. At least six years of electronics installation and maintenance experience on multiple systems is required, along with strong oral, written, and presentation skills, and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred qualifications include vendor certifications for IDS, ACS, CCTV systems and OSHA 30 certification.
The position requires physical abilities such as lifting and moving objects up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, scaffolds, or aerial lifts up to 60 ft, and performing repetitive tasks like walking, squatting, crawling, and reaching overhead. Candidates must have good vision (corrected if needed), color perception, hearing, and the ability to communicate effectively in English, as well as the skill to recognize potential problems before they occur.
