- Manage and grow the planning consents service, providing line management and mentorship to junior team members.
- Lead major development applications, including Development Consent Orders, and offer strategic planning advice to clients and internal teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered on budget and within programme timelines, coordinating multidisciplinary teams for seamless execution.
- Oversee deliverables and implement quality assurance and health and safety standards for the planning consents team.
- Contribute to business development by nurturing client relationships and leading the preparation of commercial tenders.
- Work on solar DCOs, carbon capture and storage projects, energy transmission schemes, large aviation and rail projects, and housing/mixed‑use development consenting.

The successful candidate will work on prestigious infrastructure projects in the energy transition, rail and water sectors, including solar development consent orders, carbon capture and storage, energy transmission schemes, large aviation and rail projects, and housing and mixed‑use developments.
The role requires significant experience leading planning consent applications for large infrastructure schemes, strong client and stakeholder relationships, and a business‑development mindset. A degree in Town Planning (or related) and membership of the RTPI or an equivalent professional body are essential.
- Significant experience leading planning consent applications for large infrastructure projects; expert witness experience advantageous.
- Strong client focus with existing relationships with clients and local authorities, and a proven business‑development mindset.
- Ability to write clearly, work independently under pressure, and maintain a high level of commitment to quality.
- Degree in Town Planning or related discipline and membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent professional body.
