Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic)

Description

The position is based at the Raleigh, NC rental facility, working Monday‑Friday 7 AM‑5 PM with overtime after 40 hours and occasional weekend on‑call. Technicians will maintain and repair a wide range of heavy equipment and aerial lifts, using the company’s T3 platform to manage work orders, service intervals, parts ordering, and diagnostics.

• Create, assign, and monitor work orders; track service intervals; order parts; diagnose equipment issues using the T3 platform.
• Perform safe maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment.
• Utilize laptops and tablets for technology‑driven tasks.
• Independently troubleshoot and determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Train and mentor lower‑level technicians as needed.
• Document work performed electronically and maintain accurate paperwork daily.
• Assist with equipment and parts pick‑up and delivery.
• Travel to customer sites for repairs, maintaining a clean and professional service vehicle.
• Participate in year‑round OEM training and other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Own applicable tools; advanced mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge.
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment, schematics, and diagrams.
• Strong customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
• High school diploma or trade school certificate; field service experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, move, stand, stoop, bend; may need to be clean‑shaven for certain sites.
• OSHA awareness preferred; must pass background check and drug screening.
