Project Geologist

Description

The role includes preparing technical reports such as geological summaries, scoping studies, preliminary economic assessments, and feasibility studies in compliance with international codes. The geologist will communicate findings and recommendations to clients, implement and supervise QA/QC programs, manage project schedules and budgets, and mentor junior staff.

• Perform geologic logging and sampling of soils, rock, and materials per established standards.
• Design, manage, and execute drilling, sampling, and testing programs for resource and hydrogeological investigations.
• Prepare technical reports—including geological summaries, scoping studies, and feasibility assessments—in line with international codes.
• Communicate findings, conclusions, and recommendations promptly and professionally to clients.
• Develop and oversee QA/QC programs, covering data analysis, database maintenance, and quality assurance procedures.
• Manage project schedules and budgets to ensure timely, cost‑effective delivery.
• Mentor and train junior geologists and technical staff.
• Travel up to 10 % annually to client sites and drill rigs.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline and have at least six years of experience in resource, exploration, mine development, or production geology. A thorough understanding of sedimentary and volcaniclastic geology, the ability to identify various rock types and structural features, and a Professional Geologist licensure (or ability to obtain one) are required. Travel up to 10 % of the time to domestic or international sites is expected.

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, or related field with at least six years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrate expertise in sedimentary and volcaniclastic geology and rock identification.
• Possess, or be able to obtain, Professional Geologist licensure.
