  • Conduct daily shift start-up meetings with plant and quarry personnel to discuss safety, quality and performance goals
  • Work with other PJK personnel (equipment, admin., delivery, construction, & sales staff) to maximize PJK profits and minimize conflicts.
  • Enforce company safety rules and conduct safety meetings, including toolbox talks; ensure facilities are operating in a safe manner.
  • Maintain proper job records such as schedules, personal diary, etc.
  • Act as the responsible person for all site activities not specifically managed through other lines of business.
  • Review and maintain accurate cost and production forecasts.
  • Uphold company policies, procedures, and legal requirements in all supervisory actions.
  • Identify and resolve regulatory, safety, personnel, and production problems, in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintain strong customer & supplier relationships.
  • Conduct annual evaluations of direct reports.
  • Manage employee performance through coaching, feedback, rewards, and discipline.
  • Delegate tasks and manage schedules to ensure effective team performance.
  • Assist with interviewing and hiring as needed.
  • Ensure that all operations are in full compliance with federal and state regulations, including MSHA, DEP, Town ordinance rules etc.
  • Conduct performance appraisals.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and work rules; discipline when necessary and document all employee performance issues.
  • Oversee and direct all aggregate operations, including quarry development, drill/ blast, aggregate plant operations and mobile equipment maintenance and selection at assigned locations.
  • Ensure that the workplace is kept in a neat, clean, tidy and safe condition. This includes the crusher, office, storage areas, and yard.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work for team members.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, customers and the general public at all times.
  • Develop employees’ technical and leadership skills; recommend advancement opportunities.
  • Address complaints and resolve issues promptly.
  • Assist with all PJK and Oldcastle Materials Group training initiatives

  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health & Safety Manual.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.

  • Gloves, Hearing Protection
  • Mining or Civil Engineering diploma would be an advantage.
  • Minimum 3+ years of proven experience in construction aggregate production management.
  • Experience in earth removal and working to finish plans would be an advantage.
