Senior Traffic and Modelling Engineer (Roads O&M)

Description

Egis is hiring a Senior Traffic and Modelling Engineer for its Doha office to monitor and enhance traffic‑operations performance of the Roads Management Centre and Tunnel Control Centres. The role involves delivering monthly performance reports, producing ad‑hoc analyses for major incidents and special events, and developing improvement strategies through data analysis and traffic‑engineering planning.

• Close management of subcontractors providing SCATS and traffic engineering support for RMC and Tunnels to ensure optimized on‑road performance and alignment with corridor performance and incident management measures.
• Produce monthly traffic operations performance reports for RMC and Tunnels, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Prepare ad‑hoc major incident and special event reports, leading lessons‑learned and best‑practice assessments.
• Lead data and process analysis to develop a traffic engineering improvement plan covering SCATS signal management and incident/event management enhancements.
• Proactively review corridor performance, conduct micro‑ and macro‑simulation modelling as needed, and refine changes.
• Coordinate SCATS controller personality change requests and perform quality reviews.
• Analyze and respond to customer complaints on traffic signal timing and performance within SLA, leading root‑cause analysis.
• Support special event coordination with stakeholders such as Ministry of Interior, Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, and Ministry of Transport.
• Deliver traffic response plan preparation for special events and configure traffic management systems to support those plans.
• Analyze existing traffic management response plans, develop improvement program, and execute traffic simulation modelling, data analysis, and engineering activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in transportation planning and management, with proven delivery of traffic modelling and engineering analysis studies, preferably in the Middle East.
• Expertise with traffic modelling systems and data analysis tools.
• Experience leading traffic optimization studies and major event traffic management planning.
• Experience delivering management‑level reporting and meeting contractual deadlines.
• Proven ability to manage cross‑functional teams (internal and subcontractors) and communicate traffic concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency with business intelligence tools and scripting for detailed data analysis.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and analytical mindset.
• Excellent communication skills for articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Strong leadership abilities focused on building high‑performing teams.
• Experience leading root‑cause traffic analysis studies and implementing results.
• Proactive and adaptable approach to managing change in a fast‑paced environment.
