Conduct site visit appraisals, feasibility studies and due diligence checks for prospective land acquisitions in the context of transport requirements.
Manage project budgets, timelines, and resourcing for transport work packages, ensuring profitable and timely delivery of consultancy outputs.
Develop and test geometric solutions for site accesses, internal layouts, and off-site highway mitigation measures in accordance with Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and local authority standards.
Serve as the primary technical contact for transport-related project tasks, liaising directly with private sector clients, architects, and multi-disciplinary project teams.
Prepare comprehensive Transport Assessments (TAs) and Transport Statements (TSs) to support planning applications for energy, commercial, residential and industrial developments.
Contribute to tender submissions, fee proposals, and scoping out of transport-related requirements for new energy and infrastructure projects.
Undertake detailed capacity and operational analysis using industry-standard junction modelling software, including ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG.
Support the preparation and submission of Traffic and Transport Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), particularly for large-scale energy or infrastructure projects (e.g., wind farms, solar farms, battery energy storage system (BESS) sites and grid connection sites).
Engage and negotiate effectively with local and national highway authorities (Transport Scotland) and planning officers to secure technical approvals.

Proven, hands-on experience in junction modelling software (ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG).
Commercial Acumen
Proven ability to manage small-to-medium project budgets and deliver work to commercial deadlines.
Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Geography, or a related discipline.
Familiarity with the principles of CTMPs and abnormal load route assessments.
Experience working with private sector clients (developers, investors, or land owners).
Specific, demonstrable experience on energy sector projects (e.g., grid infrastructure, renewables) is a significant advantage.
Strong technical knowledge of relevant design guidance (e.g., Manual for Streets, DMRB) and UK planning policy (NPPF/SPP) as it relates to transport.
Demonstrable experience in authoring EIA Traffic and Transport Chapters, Transport Assessments and Construction Traffic Management Plans (CTMPs).
Benefits
We provide hands-on senior staff input throughout delivery, bringing continual learning and mentoring for our early to mid-career professionals.
We think local and work local with our project teams similarly resourced on this basis. With our work wholly delivered in the UK, this ensures the continued development of our early to mid-career professionals, and lots of opportunities for ‘hands-on’ learning.
We do more than simply collaborate with clients; we also work as an extension to their team providing more opportunities to ‘see things from the other side’ and gain more skills early on.

Overview
£1 Billion
Annual Construction Projects
Involvement in construction projects valued at over £1 billion annually, reflecting significant engineering reach.
Founded in 1926 by Cecil Pell, the firm later partnered with Wilem Frischmann to become a multi‑disciplinary consultancy.
Headquartered in London, it has expanded globally with offices across the UK, Middle East, India, Turkey, and Romania.
It architects bold solutions for iconic structures—from the Centre Point tower to Liverpool One and Oxford’s new Bodleian Library.
The firm delivers across sectors including buildings, transport infrastructure, water systems, power networks, and environmental processes.
It has pioneered “firsts” in engineering, notably the tallest building in Europe and the UK’s first PFI road.
After a 2015 stake acquisition by German foundation RAG‑Stiftung, it gained a stable, long‑term ownership structure.
Subsidiaries like Frischmann Prabhu and Conseco extend its influence in Asia‑Pacific and the Middle East.
