Knowledge: Knowledge of NJDOT CombIS, AssetWise, National Bridge Elements, and SNBI coding. Knowledge of structural design and analysis
Physical ability to carry ladders and gear, work at heights, and work in water with waders
Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
Physical ability to perform field work year-round in adverse weather conditions and work around bridges, roads, rail, and tunnels
Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office. Experienced with MicroStation or other CAD software for roadway design.
Experience: Minimum 8+ years of bridge inspection and structural engineering
Certification: EIT required, PE license preferred (or ability to obtain within 1 yr). FHWA-NHI-130055 and additional FHWA Training (Fracture Critical, Moveable Bridge, Tunnel, or Ancillary Structures)
