Description

The Medication Technician documents, delivers, and administers prescribed medicines to residents while providing superior customer service and complying with all policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. The part‑time schedule runs from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The role involves coordinating with residents, pharmacists, and physicians, maintaining accurate and confidential medication records, performing narcotic counts, and supporting caregiver duties such as personal care, safety checks, and emergency response.

• Execute signature programs in dining, fitness, wellness, and care.
• Utilize financial and legal services.
• Assist residents with daily medications, treatments, and care (40%).
• Observe, verify, and document medication ingestion or application (6%).
• Notify supervisor of medication administration issues (5%).
• Maintain accurate, confidential medication records (6%).
• Coordinate medication services with residents, pharmacy, and physicians (5%).
• Track medication changes and refills; prepare medications up to 24 hours in advance (5%).
• Perform narcotic counts at shift start and end, reporting discrepancies (5%).
• Support caregivers and assume caregiver duties, including personal care, meal assistance, transportation, safety checks, and activity encouragement (13%).
• Chart and document information, including incident reports, and report resident condition changes promptly.
• Respond promptly to resident alerts, carry walkie‑talkies, and handle emergencies.
• Ensure resident safety during drills and daily activities.
• Encourage teamwork through open communication.
• Provide a recent negative TB test and complete health screening.
• Follow oral and written directions.
• Meet and maintain all state regulatory requirements.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times.

Requirements

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, read and speak English fluently, pass background and health screenings, and be able to lift 50 lb and push 40 lb unassisted while meeting all state regulatory and HIPAA requirements.
