The Controls & Instrumentation (C&I) Supervisor is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient supervision of all control systems and instrumentation maintenance activities across the Al Shaheen offshore facilities.
The role ensures optimum performance, integrity, and availability of all control, safety, and automation systems.
It further includes enhanced leadership, team development, and contractor management responsibilities in line with the field’s expanding M&I workload.
The Control & Instrument Supervisor is the offshore owner of key business and safety critical Control & Instrument systems and is overall accountable for all matters relating to the Control & Instrument discipline offshore. The Control & Instrument Supervisor supports the Maintenance Superintendent in all matters related to managing the day-to-day priorities and ensuring safe delivery of business priorities.
Providing technical input to key stakeholders related to the execution of campaign and project scopes
- Act as an Emergency Response Team Member as per HSE training matrix and platform requirements
- Provide field input to modifications, technical upgrades and improvements to support implementation
- Ensure inspections are carried out following the preventive maintenance program to assure the normal operation of the equipment
- Support the development and implementation of improved M&I methodologies, conducting technical reviews and work management audits to ensure best practices and data integrity in SAP.
- Ensure safe delivery of core business through active management of maintenance activities and core operational activities while also integrating the execution of Maintenance and Well Service Campaigns and E&C activities
- Supervise all preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance for control systems and field instrumentation, including DCS, ESD, F&G, PLCs, analyzers, transmitters, and control valves. Integral stakeholder in the 5-week IOP planning process.
- Represent NOC appropriately and in accordance with code of ethics when interfacing with internal and external stakeholders
- Create SAP work orders to ensure all materials are added and estimated work hours are correct
- Promote cost consciousness across entire network of stakeholders to embed a strong cost culture
- Review and enhance Planned, Preventive Maintenance (PPM) strategies in SAP, ensuring alignment with reliability and criticality analyses.
- Coordinate personnel and logistics during maintenance and repair work to assure quality and efficiency
- Motivate and inspire staff in the execution of their responsibilities to drive a performance culture and encourage innovative thinking around process safety and asset integrity
- Leading a team of 4 Technicians to support the safe delivery of approximately 65,000 bopd
- Provide direction, coaching and support to team members to ensure targets are met
- Oversee the management of maintenance deferrals, backlog, and corrective actions while ensuring accurate documentation and prioritization.
- Participate in the Daily Permit Meeting and ensure teams strict compliance with company requirements and safe execution of all Control & Instrument platform work activities
- Provide Operating Authority with feedback to improve business performance, improve production uptime, deliver cost efficiencies and reduce risk within Control & Instrument area
- Ensuring the timely liquidation of all planned and corrective maintenance activities relevant for the Control & Instrument discipline
- Ensure Control & Instrument maintenance backlog is maintained within Company targets
- Troubleshoot upsets and conduct root cause analysis (5-Why’s) to ensure high equipment reliability and compliance with OEM recommendations and NOC standards.
- Ensure that any failure or emergency that may interrupt the normal operations of the Control & Instrument equipment is prevented or corrected
- Coordinate logistics, Control & Instrument maintenance and repairs of equipment located on the platform to ensure the normal operation, while following established company procedures and instructions from the Operating Authority
- Acting as a Performing Authority to ensure that all Control & Instrument work is carried out in accordance with the Permit to Work process and company requirements

- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Oil Spill Principles and Management Level 1
- Ability to work with large teams in a complex and multicultural environment
- Basic Firefighting
- Avg. Permits Raised Per Week: 50
- Industry Experience: Minimum 10 years’ experience in O&G production operations, or Control & Instrument systems in similar industry
- Thorough understanding and application of industry process safety guidelines and procedures
- Experience on SIEMENS control systems and/or SIEMENS rotating machines would be a lus.
- Highly motivated, flexible in approach and with a proactive mindset
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering field or equivalent
- Basic Cause Tree Analysis
- Ability to set and implement operational objectives, drive performance and foster a performance culture
- Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills
- Computer literate
