  • Manage, mentor, and support safety professionals (Safety Managers, Coordinators, etc.) assigned to national projects.
  • Safety Leadership: Champions a culture of safety by modeling safe practices, managing risks, and ensuring the wellbeing of people and operations.
  • Actively contribute as a member of the Safety Team, collaborating to support shared goals and objectives
  • Establish auditing, tracking, and continuous improvement processes that ensure compliance and elevate performance.
  • Ensure alignment of operating unit safety practices with enterprise-level frameworks, standards, and policies.
  • Actively support and participate in Lean events, promoting the McGough Way and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Collaboration and Team Development: Builds strong, inclusive teams by fostering trust, leveraging diverse strengths, and supporting professional growth.
  • Lead the development, deployment, and oversight of safety programs across the National/Data Center Operating Unit.
  • Partner laterally with Field Operations, QA/QC, and other functional leaders to ensure seamless execution.
  • Provide coaching, tools, and resources to project teams to proactively manage jobsite safety.
  • Integrate client-specific safety standards into operating unit practices while maintaining consistency with McGough’s enterprise framework.
  • Build systems of training, development, and succession planning to strengthen the pipeline of safety leadership.
  • Create and implement tailored safety systems, protocols, and reporting mechanisms specific to the scale and complexity of data center work.
  • Represent McGough professionally at all events, upholding company standards and serving as a positive ambassador

  • Ability to travel nationally, up to 50% of time.
  • Visible and consistent field engagement (e.g., safety walks, site presence, leadership interactions).
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive safety leadership experience in construction, with at least 5 years in a director or senior leadership role.
  • Proactive identification and escalation of high-risk activities or emerging trends.
  • Bilingual with the ability to communicate in both Spanish and English
  • Frequency and quality of coaching provided to safety team members.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing safety teams.
