  • Work closely with Quality to lead root cause investigations, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement at supplier sites.
  • Act as the technical link between engineering teams and suppliers to ensure component manufacturability and compliance with design and quality requirements.
  • Participate in cross-functional reviews relating to design changes, risk mitigation, and supply chain readiness.
  • Conduct regular supplier visits across the UK (and occasionally Europe) to support technical issue resolution, process improvements, and performance management.
  • Play a key part in supplier development, product quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Apply APQP, PFMEA, and PPAP frameworks to define production processes and uphold product quality from the outset.
  • Shape a brand new role in a forward-thinking engineering business.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to integrate technical considerations into supplier selection and strategic sourcing decisions.

  • Confident interpreting technical drawings, GD&T, and engineering specifications.
  • Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Must be eligible to obtain relevant UK security clearance.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, PCBAs, coatings, welding, NDT, or composites.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering, supply chain, or technical procurement within high-integrity sectors (e.g. defence, aerospace, marine, or advanced manufacturing).
  • Comfortable working with ERP/MRP systems and engineering documentation.
  • Skilled in supplier relationship management and effective at influencing stakeholders at all levels.
