These models play a crucial role in guiding operational, planning, and strategic decisions across the business. By producing accurate and timely urban drainage models, the department helps Yorkshire Water meet its environmental goals and regulatory targets.
The Environmental and Wastewater Strategy department focuses on developing skilled modellers who can build, assess, and maintain hydraulic, river flow, and water quality models. Through targeted training, team members learn to apply modelling standards, understand system functionality, and deliver high-quality outputs that meet regulatory requirements.
A key part of the role involves working with complex datasets—learning how to source, validate, and manage data to ensure smooth integration into modelling processes. Team members also support technical delivery of modelling projects, including scenario testing and presenting results in clear, audience-friendly formats.

Successful candidates will undergo pre-employment checks, including a Basic Disclosure via a third-party provider. Some roles may also require Counter Terrorist or Security Check clearance.
