This role is responsible for statutory financial filings, including statutory audits with internal and external partners, and oversees transactional tax filings to assure local compliance for the entities in scope. It drives technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate financial reporting and analysis. The position impacts the quality of its own work as well as that of the team and focuses on executing standard enabling activities and providing advice within policy and work routines.
Key responsibilities include preparing and submitting statutory financial statements in compliance with regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies. The role supports and eventually owns components of the statutory audit lifecycle, coordinating with external auditors and preparing audit deliverables. It partners with cross‑functional teams, such as Tax and regional business lines, to gather inputs for reporting and compliance activities, and liaises with external auditors to provide documentation, resolve queries, and ensure timely closure of audit items.
The position ensures compliance with statutory and tax KPIs, tracking and reporting relevant metrics, and participates in Lean and process‑improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial processes. It supports STAT to GAAP adjustments in Statutory HFM and posts related entries in the SAP dual ledger, while also handling legal entity‑level Stat to GAAP adjustments to minimize reconciling items. Coordination with Grid tax teams is required to provide accurate data for tax computations, filings, and audits.
Required qualifications include a Certified Public Accountant or Commerce degree from an accredited institution and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Desired characteristics are strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP, local standards), familiarity with SAP, HFM, or other reporting tools, and advanced Excel skills for large datasets. Effective communication, analytical mindset, proactive problem‑solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are also essential.
