Crane Supervisor

Description

The Lifting Supervisor / Crane Coordinator will manage, plan, and supervise all lifting operations across a major data centre project. This role requires strong technical knowledge of cranes, rigging, complex lifts, and stringent safety protocols. You will coordinate multiple subcontractors, ensure compliance, and oversee safe and efficient lifting operations on a fast-paced, high-value construction project.

• Coordinate all crane activities to avoid clashes, congestion, and downtime.
• Support planning of heavy lifts, façade installations, plant movement, and MEP equipment positioning.
• Lead incident investigations related to lifting operations.
• Manage crane movements, schedules, and sequencing across a busy construction site.
• Ensure all lifting operations adhere to strict H&S standards expected on mission-critical facilities.
• Maintain up-to-date crane utilisation logs and lifting registers.
• Conduct daily interface meetings with construction teams, logistics, MEP, and subcontractors.
• Liaise with project management, client reps, structural teams, and subcontractors.
• Provide direct supervision of crane operators, riggers, slingers, and banksmen.
• Ensure cranes, lifting accessories, and equipment are selected, inspected, and operated correctly.
• Participate in progress meetings and provide accurate reporting.
• Develop lift plans (standard and complex) in collaboration with Appointed Persons.
• Review RAMS for all lifting and cranage operations.
• Monitor lifting activities to ensure compliance with LOLER, manufacturer guidelines, and internal procedures.
• Stop unsafe work and implement corrective actions.
• Carry out tool-box talks and task briefings for lifting teams.
• Plan, supervise, and coordinate all lifting activities across the project.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Recognised lifting certification (e.g., CPCS, CSCS, NPORS, appointed person training an advantage).
• Thorough knowledge of LOLER, PUWER, and EU lifting regulations.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to enforce standards.
• Minimum 5+ years experience as a Lifting Supervisor, Crane Coordinator, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of heavy cranes, mobile cranes, tower cranes, and lifting accessories.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple lifts simultaneously on complex projects.
• Prior experience on large-scale data centre, industrial, pharma, or mission-critical projects preferred.

Salary: €75,000 – €85,000 per annum
