You will lead and be responsible for local public engagement in Historic England’s North East and Yorkshire region. Reporting to the Head of Regional Public Engagement, who is based in London, you will deliver Historic England’s strategic communications and engagement activity, ensuring our vision and mission are well understood and supported across the region, and building widespread support for Historic England’s mission using traditional and social media, and liaising with MPs and their offices. You will be one of six Public Engagement Managers working for Historic England (HE).
You will work closely with the Head of External Affairs who has matrix responsibility for the parliamentary work of the Public Engagement Managers. Working side by side with colleagues in the North East and Yorkshire region, as well as our national media, campaigns and content teams, you will ensure that HE’s brand continues to grow and gain positive recognition among key audiences and that we are in a two-way conversation with them about the future of their local historic environment, and how everyone can help protect it.
