The position is field‑based, requiring work on renewable assets, occasional office tasks, and the use of personal protective equipment. Employees work eight‑hour shifts, may be required to do overtime or night shifts, and are regularly exposed to extreme weather, high voltage, moving mechanical parts, confined spaces, and moderate noise levels.
Under the direction of the site manager and an experienced technician, the Renewable Energy Technician assists with maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair of wind turbines, photovoltaic, and energy storage systems. New hires must complete a mandatory five‑week training and certification course in Albert Lea, MN, with travel, accommodation, and expenses provided.
Candidates need a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least one year of experience in the renewable energy sector or a related field. Required skills include basic computer knowledge, a valid driver’s license, ability to follow verbal and written instructions, and good communication in English. Physical demands include climbing structures up to 300 ft, lifting up to 50 lb, working at heights and in confined spaces, and meeting a weight limit of 285 lb for wind‑specific tasks.

The hourly salary range for this role is $22.69 to $47.74, with an estimated starting pay of $25.00 to $38.00 per hour, based on experience, education, performance, internal equity, and geographic location.
