The field technician role involves basic field work such as collecting utility location information, GPS data points, reviewing system maps, and producing as‑built sketches. Technicians work independently, make on‑site decisions, drive safely to test stations, gather corrosion control data on underground and submerged metallic structures, and accurately record information in GIS applications following client procedures. Daily responsibilities include planning work to meet data quotas, coordinating with client gas distribution offices, and reviewing results with corrosion technicians and engineering management.
The position demands physical stamina, including standing or walking on uneven terrain, climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in all weather conditions. Employees must be able to travel safely to job sites and possess a personal cell phone for communication. Candidates should reside in the New Jersey area, be proficient in Microsoft Office, and demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
