The selected candidate will serve as a Senior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) responsible for Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities under the Defense Health Agency (DHA). The role involves obtaining and maintaining Authorizations to Operate (ATO) for DoD medical applications, networks, and devices.
The position is onsite with an estimated 35 % travel requirement and follows standard working hours. The work environment emphasizes safety, collaboration, and adherence to DoD security standards.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (or 18 years of hands‑on cyber/IT experience in lieu of a degree), an active TS/SCI clearance, and experience with Special Access Programs. Candidates must demonstrate expert‑level knowledge of the Risk Management Framework, DISA STIGs, SRGs, NIST 800‑53, and have hands‑on experience with ACAS, eMASS, and DoD RMF package development. Strong oral and written communication skills, customer‑service orientation, and familiarity with NIST publications are also required.
Desired qualifications include prior work under DHA, familiarity with HBSS, continuous monitoring and risk scoring, and experience with application security tools such as Fortify, WebInspect, or AppDetective.
