Work closely with Project Managers to manage the scope, schedule, and cost of projects and provide technical oversight.
Assist in preparing proposals, project plans and estimates.
Follow internal QA/QC procedures to deliver high quality engineering services to clients.
May be required to conduct detailed engineering work such as design, specifications, and studies.
Coordinate and oversee the development of technical documents such as specifications, drawings and reports.
Conduct site visits to verify existing installation, define project scopes, prepare for detailed designs and provide construction site supports as required.
Identify and manage project technical risks.
Act as project technical lead to collaborate with internal engineering teams, clients, and third party stakeholders.
Develop design plans, strategies, schedules and resource planning for engineering activities on projects at Identification, Definition and Implementation phases.
Work with construction management, engineering, and procurement management to ensure that technical support is available and issues are addressed in a timely manner during construction, fabrication, and testing & commissioning phases.
Lead and coordinate with internal engineering teams to complete tasks such as reviewing vendor drawings of equipment, inter-disciplinary reviews of deliverables, maintain and update project technical document of record as well as internal QA, organize and initiate communication with internal teams on resolving complex technical challenges, etc.

Demonstrated capability to efficiently handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (specialization in Power System) with minimum 8 years of proven experience of project engineer role related to high voltage substations for utilities in North America.
Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
Proven knowledge in Geotechnical, Civil/Structural, P&C, SCADA, Telecom, Mechanical, and Architectural is an asset.
Field experience in commissioning and testing is considered an asset.
6 years of direct experience on Physical Design of high voltage (69kV and above) substation projects is required.
Professional Engineer registered with the Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC), or related association in Canada.
Holding a valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver’s license.
Effective interpersonal skills (written & verbal) are essential for interacting with multi-disciplinary teams, suppliers, sub-consultants and managing client relationships.
