We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives across major transportation and heavy civil infrastructure projects throughout New Jersey and the surrounding region. This individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety programs that ensure a safe working environment for all personnel while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a deep understanding of construction safety practices and a passion for building a culture of safety on complex, large-scale job sites.
Full-Time | Experienced | On-Site / Field-Based
The Safety Manager will oversee all aspects of jobsite safety, working closely with project leadership, field teams, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure full compliance and continuous improvement. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage with teams in the field to promote best practices, identify risks, and drive accountability.
- OSHA 30 certification required; CHST, CSP, or similar professional safety certifications preferred.
- Proven experience conducting training, audits, investigations, and compliance reporting.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites regularly.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage personnel at all levels.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of safety management experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, or transportation construction.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, DOT safety standards, and applicable federal, state, and local safety laws.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience developing and managing safety programs for large-scale construction projects.
