The role sits at the forefront of SR&ED strategy within WSP’s Transportation Systems team, which spans rail, transit, aviation, ports, marine, and fleet initiatives across Canada. You will shape how complex technical advancements are recognized, defended, and documented, helping project teams secure critical innovation funding for transformational infrastructure.
- Lead end‑to‑end SR&ED delivery for Transportation Systems projects, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct deep‑dive technical interviews to uncover eligible R&D activities and guide engineering leaders in articulating challenges.
- Create defensible technical narratives that demonstrate uncertainty, experimentation and innovation.
- Represent clients confidently during CRA technical reviews, answering questions and defending eligibility.
- Develop and maintain SR&ED documentation frameworks to improve audit readiness and consistency across business lines.
- Identify complementary non‑dilutive funding and structure multi‑program funding strategies.
- Collaborate with the national WSP SR&ED team to harmonize best practices, training and compliance tools.
- Facilitate meeting‑focused engagement, asking key questions to surface technical depth.
- Translate advanced technical work into concise, high‑impact narratives.
- Manage senior technical stakeholders and lead structured eligibility discussions.

- Hold a degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field with hands‑on problem‑solving experience.
- Possess 5+ years of direct SR&ED delivery experience, including successful claims and CRA review support.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of CRA SR&ED policy, eligibility guidelines and related tax legislation.
- Understand engineering, software, environmental, digital or AI‑related SR&ED pathways.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) in fast‑paced engineering environments.
- Highly organized, proactive and collaborative, able to lead, influence and build strong relationships.

Compensation is competitive, with salary ranges varying by province (e.g., $147,500–$195,400 in AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK). Final offers consider education, experience, skills, seniority, location and other factors, and may be adjusted to meet business needs.
