The PLC Programmer is responsible for maintaining and updating Keystone Clearwater Solutions’ automated assets, web‑based programs, network infrastructure, SCADA, and PLC systems. The role will develop and manage a system to track software versions and system functions. Travel to field operations is required to troubleshoot, upgrade, and maintain automation assets, and the position reports to the Manager of Automation.
Key duties include overseeing control systems for automated assets, setting up, troubleshooting, and modifying PLCs and HMI applications in the field, and developing HTML‑based customer dashboard applications. The programmer will also create and maintain SCADA pages using Ignition and GE iFix, develop ladder logic with Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, and Node‑RED, and monitor network health. Additional responsibilities involve leading WaterForce projects, training field automation supervisors, and providing support to engineering, procurement, and operations teams.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience, with at least five years in instrumentation and automated control systems. Required skills include programming in Python, HTML, VB.NET, C#, and JavaScript, advanced networking, PLC ladder logic programming with RSLogix 5000 and Siemens Step 7, and familiarity with protocols such as S7, Modbus, HART, and MQTT. Experience with Windows/Linux OS, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), IoT, data analytics, and strong communication and analytical abilities are also essential.
