The purpose of this role is to lead the design of solutions, governing the development and setting out the strategic direction for Landsec. Acting as a consultant within multiple business domain (Lifestyle, Workplace, Residential or Group) for a broad range of technologies, platforms and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes.
The role is responsible for delivering secure solutions at speed into the business, following our corporate standards such as ‘secure by design’, 'cloud first' and ‘AI first’. In order to accelerate time to market, the role will utilise an agile methodology and both ‘minimum viable product’ and ‘iterative’ principles.
- Leads the development and maintenance of a technology strategy and an outcome driven, commercially focused technology roadmap for their domain. Ensuring alignment of strategic needs with technology delivery across the entire organisation.
- Defining and maintaining architecture standards across all technology domains
- Identify and recommend technology innovation experiments, helping to create new products and services and assists in integrating the best of these into steady-state operations for the organisation.
- Ensure that Landsec Tech “do the right things” by delivering technology solutions that deliver the desired business strategy and outcomes.
- Identifies the organisational impact (for example, on skills, processes, structures or culture) and financial impact of the solutions architecture.
- Acting as trusted advisors to the business
- Review the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies, legacy and technical debt, and recommends solutions for improvement.
- Leading architecture governance forums
- Manges the upkeep of the architecture repository, principles, methods and standards.
- Reviewing and assuring solution designs for alignment and integrity
- Ensures that the appropriate solution design and technical documentation are completed and kept up to date. Adhere to change processes and produce high quality technical documentation.
- Responsible for ensuring that the respective business, application, data, security and technology architectures are in line with Landsec’s technology and governance strategies, policies and standards.
- Support the design & delivery of technology projects by providing architectural governance to ensure that Landsec Tech “do the right things right”.
- Leads the identification, evaluation, design and analysis of new solutions, suppliers and delivery methods to extend and refine Landsec’s digital eco-system.
- Managing architecture deliverables for business initiatives
- Ensures that projects are aligned to the technology strategy throughout the delivery process and do not duplicate functionality or diverge from the agreed strategy.

The individual must be both technically proficient and solution focussed, motivated by finding coherent and strategic approaches to complex business challenges or new opportunities in line with Landsec’s digital ambitions. Desirable skills include architecture governance and stakeholder management.
- Line management experience of teams and matrix management in delivering of technology solutions
- Be able to effectively lead remote teams in a multicultural environment
- Proven experience in Digital Platforms, Enterprise Application Integration, Architecture Governance, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, Application Portfolio Management
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, engineering or a related discipline with an information technology focus; or equivalent related experience.
- Able to facilitate the discovery of security vulnerabilities in web and mobile applications and maintain an appropriate security posture.
- Proficient on both Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience of working in the Real Estate or investment management sectors
- Certification in and knowledge of architecture and information management practices and EA frameworks e.g. TOGAF.
- Certification as Azure Solutions Architect Expert with proven experience designing solutions on Azure and leading the delivery.
- Understanding of infrastructure and network architecture.
- Have the ability to prototype and demonstrate using recognised tools and technologies e.g. JavaScript(Angular/React/Next.js), .Net, Powershell, SharePoint, Azure, Power BI, Power Platform and Umbraco CMS.
- Senior level Solution architecture experience or lead level experience in disciplines, such as application design and development (web and mobile), enterprise application integration, business analysis, cloud solution architecture, or infrastructure operations in a multi-technology/multi-partner environment.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies and design techniques e.g. UML, Agile etc.
- Knowledge of business ecosystems, software as a service (SaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs (REST/SOAP), Open Data, artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT) and data analytics.
- Experience in building Minimal Viable Products (MVP) and being able to demonstrate back to stakeholders.

This role is based in London Victoria, and offers hybrid working, with majority of the working week in the office. We recommend discussing arrangements with the hiring manager.
