The Technical Field Instructor III provides state‑of‑the‑art technical training on {Technology} installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to internal and customer students, while managing lab equipment at the Houston Learning Center. As a subject‑matter expert, the instructor collaborates with internal teams to enhance training content and delivery methods.
- Deliver training for internal and/or customer participants focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost as enabler of One Field Services business priorities.
- Support design, development, updating and delivery of training for gas turbine, steam turbine, generators and/or combined cycle equipment, including classroom preparation and hands‑on troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
- Use participants' reaction and learning data to recommend improvements to instruction methods, curriculum, or other training aspects.
- Employ a variety of learning and delivery methodologies (virtual, classroom, hands‑on, augmented reality, mentoring, etc.) to boost engagement and learning effectiveness.
- Act as subject‑matter expert, collaborating with other teams to create or modify training content, delivery methods, and continuous‑improvement projects.
- Incorporate company policies and procedures into learning objectives and enforce them during training execution.
- Integrate Field Engineering e‑tools, reporting systems, service notices, and other business processes into training programs where applicable.
- Maintain accurate training records, update course materials, and evaluate student performance.
- Provide feedback on students to Training and Development Managers and student leaders; proactively escalate prerequisite gaps or performance issues for timely remediation.
- Travel may be required.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or possess at least seven years of equivalent professional experience with relevant technology. A minimum of five years of field service or engineering experience in installation, operation, maintenance, or repairs is required, along with fluent English communication skills.
Preferred candidates have prior technical instructor or adult‑learning experience, an Adult Learning Strategies certification, and familiarity with GE turbine products, excitation, controls, and mechanical operations. Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication skills, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office, are also sought.
- Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed for field assignments.
Benefits
The position offers a salary range of $83,600 to $138,000 (exempt) and includes FieldCore benefits such as medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement savings, health‑and‑wellness reimbursements, and a bonus or incentive program.
