The Sustainable Operations internship runs from June 1 to August 7 2026 and is based on‑site in major U.S. markets such as Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and San Diego. Interns join the Sustainable Operations team to support consulting services for investors and corporate occupiers, gaining hands‑on experience in research, data analysis, and site evaluations.
Candidates must be enrolled in an engineering, environmental, sustainability or related degree program and possess strong communication, time‑management and independent‑working abilities. Preferred attributes include familiarity with green‑building certifications, GHG reporting, ISO 14001, and waste‑management metrics.
- Enrolled in a university program (engineering, environmental, sustainability or related fields)
- Comfortable presenting and engaging directly with internal stakeholders and team members
- Strong time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently to accomplish assigned tasks
- Proficient written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong data analysis and research capabilities
- Familiarity with sustainability benchmarks and green‑building certifications (e.g., GRESB, LEED, GreenStar, GRI, PRI)
- Knowledge of greenhouse‑gas emission scopes and reporting requirements
- Understanding of environmental reporting, utility management, improvement programs, and ISO 14001 compliance
- Experience with waste topics such as diversion rates, recycling, and waste analysis/reporting
Benefits
