As an Auditor in our Internal Audit Team you will drive meaningful improvements, lead audit fieldwork, make recommendations that influence new or updated procedures, and collaborate with colleagues at all levels to deliver real value. The role focuses on creating positive change rather than just ticking boxes.
- Lead audit fieldwork, assess processes and ensure compliance.
- Engage with colleagues across the organisation to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
- Recommend innovative changes to strengthen controls and improve efficiency.
- Present findings and assurance opinions to senior managers clearly and confidently.
- Provide consultancy and advisory services with expert insight.
- Conduct investigations, including fraud assessments and value‑for‑money studies.

- Qualified Accountant (CCAB) or qualified Internal Auditor (IIA).
- Confident in performing audit fieldwork and documenting findings.
- Strong report‑writing and communication skills, adaptable to varied audiences.
- Experience delivering difficult messages to senior management and agreeing actions.
- Keen eye for detail and enthusiasm for solving complex problems.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Collaborative mindset, able to work with diverse colleagues across the business.
Benefits
Competitive salary. Permanent, full‑time (37.5 hpw) role based in Newcastle upon Tyne with a hybrid working model. Home Group cannot provide a CoS for this position.
The practical bits: full‑time role with part‑time and flexible options, hybrid pattern of two days in the Newcastle office and three days from home, Wednesday as the anchor office day, and you will manage your own diary.
