Civil Engineer

Description

In this role you will manage civil engineering activities, reporting to senior members of the Civil Engineering Group and supporting projects from inception to completion. You will ensure that deliverables meet programme schedules, quality standards and budget constraints, while liaising with design and construction teams.

• Report to senior members of the Civil Engineering Group.
• Support projects from inception to completion, ensuring programme, quality and budget compliance.
• Prepare project reports, correspondence and detailed design calculations.
• Undertake scheme and detailed design, including checking drawings and deliverables.
• Assist team members to meet project deadlines and represent the Civil & Structural Engineering Group.

Requirements

The ideal candidate holds a first degree in Civil Engineering, has 1–3 years of experience in groundworks, drainage and highway design, and understands industry guidelines such as Sewer Sector Guidance, Building Regulations, DMRB and NPPF. Proficiency with analysis and design software (e.g., Causeway Flow/Windes MicroDrainage, Civil 3D, AutoCAD) and the ability to produce written reports are essential, alongside strong communication, teamwork and a self‑starter attitude.

• Hold a first degree in Civil Engineering with 1–3 years experience in groundworks, drainage and highway design.
• Knowledge of industry guidelines such as Sewer Sector Guidance, Building Regulations, DMRB and NPPF.
• Proficient with Causeway Flow/Windes MicroDrainage, Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
• Able to produce written reports; self‑starter with minimal supervision.
• Strong communicator, confident team worker with excellent interpersonal skills.
