Intermediate Process Project Engineer

Description

• Lead execution of capital projects following engineering, regulatory and environmental standards.
• Oversee design, procurement, budgeting, installation, testing, FAT, validation, commissioning and handover of new process equipment and safety upgrades.
• Identify projects and develop scope and business cases.
• Define technical, ATEX, CIP, machinery safety (CE Mark) and cleanability requirements.
• Develop RFP and URS documents and issue them to contractors.
• Prepare and issue tender documents, manage the award process.
• Create CAPEX documentation and obtain approval.
• Participate in HAZOP studies.
• Prepare Change Control documents for site works or modifications.
• Lead project kickoff meetings with process, electrical, automation and civil contractors.
• Conduct constructability review meetings covering scaffolding, MEWP, hot works, crane lifts, etc.
• Approve project schedules and monitor timelines and critical paths throughout the lifecycle.
• Manage snag lists, weld logs, test packs, inspection plans, redline drawings and P&ID updates.
• Approve technical submittals such as material datasheets, tank drawings and isometrics.
• Review and approve method statements prior to permit‑to‑work issuance for various work types.
• Respond promptly to contractor RFIs.
• Lead weekly progress and safety review meetings.
• Communicate project changes to relevant departments.

Requirements

The successful candidate will hold a degree in Process or Chemical Engineering, possess experience in highly regulated environments and utility systems, and demonstrate strong project management, communication, and documentation skills, along with a proactive “can‑do” attitude.

• Hold a degree in Process or Chemical Engineering.
• Experience in highly regulated sectors like BioPharma, Pharma, medical devices, Food or semiconductor.
• Knowledge of utility systems including chillers, HVAC and purified water.
• Experience directing or supervising construction projects (advantageous).
• Strong project management capabilities.
• Effective communication, presentation and documentation skills.
• Proactive “can‑do” attitude and enthusiasm to get the job done.
