The Sr. Internal Auditor, Financial Assurance & Compliance reports to the Manager, Financial Assurance & Compliance and is responsible for executing the Annual Audit Plan, leading internal audits, conducting special reviews, and providing consulting assignments across the company.
Key duties include creating and maintaining process control documentation, preparing working papers, presenting audit results and recommendations to business unit management, preparing formal audit reports, maintaining effective communication with management and staff, leading special reviews, identifying internal control and process improvement opportunities, participating in the annual risk assessment, and providing value‑add consulting services. The role may require up to 25 % travel to audit locations across Canada.
The ideal candidate holds a professional accounting designation such as CPA, with prior audit experience and, preferably, a CIA designation. A solid understanding of risk and control principles, financial assertions, and the COSO framework is required, along with knowledge of Bill 198/NI‑52‑109/C‑SOX or Sarbanes‑Oxley. Experience in construction, job‑cost reporting, IFRS, SAP, Business Objects, and strong Excel/Word skills are desirable.
Excellent written and oral communication, strong organizational and time‑management abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to work both independently and within a team are essential. The position offers a salary range of $70,000‑$94,000 and is a replacement vacancy.
