Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability
Execute purchasing strategy that supports the businesses’ overall market-driven strategy related to raw materials, components, purchase for resale products, and services
Ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials on a short lead-time basis while satisfying all quality criteria
Provide detailed reporting on market conditions to management
Establishes recommendations for supplier enhancement, termination, and new supplier development
Partner with functional leaders to coordinate supply chain functions with manufacturing, sales, marketing, design engineering, and other departments
Continually benchmark best practices and implement as appropriate
Analyzes categories and develop strategies to secure cost decreases
Take initiative to develop process improvements, simplify practices/workflows, and resolve problems
Periodically present plans and actual results, strategy deployment, and KPI progress. Take aggressive action to drive performance in the areas of purchase pricing, supply chain costs, and inventory levels
Drive rapid, significant, and sustainable improvement in on-time delivery, lead-time, and purchase pricing
Advises stakeholders of significant purchasing issues that may impact business
Identify sources of supply, seek out the lowest total cost alternatives and develop solid working relationships with suppliers
Work closely with other functional areas to pursue alternative products solutions, which will reduce costs
Lead regular strategy deployment & KPI reviews for the purchasing team ensuring attainment of results and a sense of urgency with respect to the strategic implementation priorities

APICS/ASCM Certification

BS/BA in Supply Chain Management or Equivalent
5+ Years of sourcing/purchasing experience with 3+ Years management experience.
Solid experience with major MRP software/tools
Comfortable with challenging the status quo
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, & Outlook)
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems quickly.
Ability to work with a team or independently and be a self-starter
Possesses strong communication skills, written and verbal
MBA or Master's degree is a plus.
