Collaborating with DevOps, application, and infrastructure teams for CI/CD integration and cloud architecture improvements.
Performing database tuning, troubleshooting, and optimizing SQL/PLSQL.
Implementing and managing backup and recovery strategies, including RMAN.
Deploying, configuring, and maintaining Oracle databases on AWS (EC2 and/or RDS).
Support mission-critical SQL Server or PostgreSQL databases with advanced troubleshooting skills for performance and tuning.
Managing database security, user access, encryption, and auditing policies.
Using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring, alerting, automation, and diagnostics.
Participating in an on-call rotation to support 24/7 production environments.
Optimize database systems to ensure they are robust and efficient.
Supporting disaster recovery and high availability solutions (e.g., Oracle Data Guard, AlwaysON, Multi-AZ RDS for Postgres.
Supporting database migrations and upgrades in a cloud-first environment.

Tools: RMAN, Data Guard, AWS CLI, Linux shell scripting
Strong communication, partnership, teamwork and influencing skills required. Experience with source control, with database engineering background.
Familiarity with AWS-native tools (e.g., CloudWatch, IAM, S3) for database management.
Deep knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Strong understanding of database security, encryption, and compliance practices.
Cloud: AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, DMS)
Experience with database migrations (e.g., Oracle to PostgreSQL) using AWS DMS or Ora2Pg.
Databases: Oracle 19c, PostgreSQL (preferred), SQL Server (preferred)
Ability to automate redundant tasks using scripts, jobs, and other technologies.
Scripting/Automation: Bash, Python (nice to have), AWS Lambda
A strong interest in cloud technologies and automation and a DevOps mindset
AWS Certifications (Database Specialty, Solutions Architect Associate/Professional).
5-7 years or more of experience as an Oracle DBA in production environments.
Other: Git, Jira, Confluence, Terraform (optional)
Strong experience managing Oracle databases in AWS Cloud (EC2 or RDS).
Expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, performance tuning, and database diagnostics.
Monitoring: Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), AWS CloudWatch
Bachelor’s in computer science or related discipline; or equivalent work experience.
Experience with RMAN and database patching/maintenance.
Experience managing PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server on AWS (RDS or EC2).
