The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general upkeep and cleanliness of apartment buildings and grounds, reporting to the Community Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, or regional Maintenance Mentor. The role requires strong customer service skills to interact with residents, contractors, and visitors, and to resolve maintenance issues daily.
The technician ensures a neat and safe environment, follows company policies, and may be called upon for overtime, coverage of other Conifer locations, and emergency response.
Candidates should have at least 1–2 years of hands-on apartment maintenance experience, with abilities in painting, minor plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, drywall, and cleaning; HVAC knowledge is a plus. They must be comfortable using hand and power tools, reading policies, and navigating computer systems for timekeeping and work orders.
A high school diploma or GED is required; vocational training or certifications in construction, maintenance, or OSHA standards are considered an advantage.
Ideal applicants are self-motivated, reliable, organized, and possess excellent communication and customer-service skills. They can work independently or as part of a team, manage multiple tasks, and demonstrate professional judgment and problem-solving abilities.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm EST, with an on-call rotation.
Compensation ranges from $20.00 to $24.00 hourly, complemented by 13 holidays, 15 days paid time off, a 401(k) match, medical, dental, vision, HSA, dependent-care Flex, life and disability insurance, and a wellness program, along with ongoing training.
