Description

You’ll support financial reporting, maintain cost forecasts, monitor buyout vs. budget alignment, and help manage financial risks. This role works closely with PMs, Supers, Estimators, and Accounting to keep cost information accurate and consistent. It suits someone who is detail-driven, comfortable with numbers, and able to manage multiple projects at once.

Change Order Management

We’re looking for a Change Order & Cost Control Manager who takes full responsibility of the change order workflow and provides disciplined financial oversight across active projects. You’ll manage the full CO process, identifying scope changes early, pricing them accurately, and moving submissions and approvals quickly to protect margins.

• Update cost forecasts to reflect approved and pending change orders
• Partner with Estimating to reference historical cost data and improve pricing accuracy
• Maintain a real-time log of pending, submitted, approved, and rejected COs; follow up proactively to secure approvals
• Identify potential scope gaps early and help convert them into CO opportunities
• Support periodic financial reviews and internal audits of cost data and change-order exposure
• Issue and negotiate subcontractor COs once Owner COs are approved; ensure timely purchasing to lock in project costs
• Support improvements to Procore workflows, templates, and reporting related to change management
• Lead the full lifecycle of Owner and Subcontractor Change Orders for all projects
• Collect, level, and analyze subcontractor pricing; perform quantity takeoffs when needed
• Assist with subcontractor payment applications, monthly requisitions, and revenue recognition tied to COs
• Prepare clear dashboards and financial summaries highlighting CO impacts
• Drive consistency and discipline in Wesbuilt’s change-management procedures across all project teams
• Prepare Owner CO submissions with detailed cost breakdowns, backup documentation, and schedule impact narratives
• Coordinate with PMs and Superintendents to confirm scope, verify field conditions, and gather required documentation
• Work with field staff to gather labor hours, photos, and backup required for defensible CO submissions
• Prepare, review, and price change orders in accordance with contract terms and Wesbuilt standards
• Lead recurring change-order review meetings with project teams and leadership
• Keep all CO files pricing sheets, correspondence, sketches, proposals organized and audit-ready
• Support cost tracking, buyout comparisons, and development of cost-to-complete reporting

Requirements

• High attention to detail with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
• Proficiency in Procore (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field
• Strong understanding of change orders, buyout, subcontractor pricing, and GC job-costing processes
• 5+ years of experience in change management, cost control, estimating, or project controls in commercial construction
• Advanced Excel skills; MS Project or Power BI a plus
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
