  • Ensures compliance with Federal and state labor laws, including, but not limited to, posters, sick accruals, etc.
  • Evaluate existing HR processes, identifying recurring tasks and critical procedures that warrant Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation; engage with relevant stakeholders to gather insights into the existing processes, ensuring comprehensive documentation and alignment with organizational objectives, e.g., immigration, recruitment, applicant tracking, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, Title VII, Payroll practices, etc.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for external audits and liaison to counsel.
  • Ensures timely completion of mandatory annual corporate training courses by all employees. Develop and maintain an HR-wide compliance calendar to track key activities and important HR initiatives to help support the HRLT in reviewing resource needs, prioritization, upstream/downstream implications, etc.
  • Ensures document retention for guidelines within the HR department is followed.
  • Collaborates with HRBPs to assess compliance and non-compliance issues and provide guidance in instances where there are gaps in meeting the established, required standards.
  • Leads creation, review, and annual audit of all HR policies, employee handbooks, and procedures by partnering with HR and business contacts as necessary to ensure all comply with local, state, federal, and international laws and regulations. Serve as the main point of contact with legal counsel regarding new laws and regulations that may affect HR policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the HR Document Management System (HR DMS); Ensure the electronic file system is compliant with data protection regulations and internal policies for records retention.
  • Provide support as needed for government and project-required filings, such as EEO-1.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of legal exposure related to employment practices and develop and recommend strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Conduct regular and ad hoc audits to ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage and continuously improve the new hire onboarding compliance programs module, ensuring all required documentation, background checks, disclosures, and acknowledgments are completed in accordance with applicable laws and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of electronic employee files to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors providing compliance-related services such as background checks, I-9 management, and training platforms. Ensuring service-level adherence, contract compliance, and issue resolution.
  • Support key HR processes across relevant business functions in collaboration with HRBPs to support the achievement of business objectives.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, with a focus on compliance and policy management.
  • Proven team player and motivated self-starter with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations in the US and support and grow knowledge base of Canada and UK.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and electronic document management systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree a plus.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of employees and demonstrate adaptable speaking and listening skills in a variety of situations
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is highly desirable.
  • Evidenced maturity in handling sensitive employment matters with high level of confidentiality
  • Working knowledge of state, federal and local employment laws including but not limited to, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRA, Title VII, etc.
