Key responsibilities include performing advanced electrical engineering analyses (arc‑flash, short‑circuit, relay coordination, motor starting, voltage‑drop, load flow) using ETAP or equivalent tools; developing one‑line diagrams, motor‑control schematics, conduit and cable schedules, grounding and wiring diagrams; sizing and specifying power distribution, control equipment, and protection systems; conducting QA/QC reviews of drawings and calculations; coordinating deliverables across multidisciplinary teams; reviewing codes, standards and third‑party submittals; and supporting field activities, RFIs and design‑basis documentation.
NorthStar seeks an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer for its Professional Engineering Consulting team. The role supports design and execution of electrical systems for energy, petrochemical, and industrial facilities, developing concepts, performing advanced analyses, and ensuring code, standard, and client compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, a Texas Professional Engineer license, and at least five years of electrical engineering experience in midstream energy, petrochemical, or industrial settings. Required skills include advanced proficiency with ETAP/SKM, AutoCAD, PLS‑CADD or similar tools, strong knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, NEMA, API RP 500, Title 49 CFR 190‑199, and solid analytical, organizational, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
