In this role you will safely administer all prescribed medications and treatments recorded on the MAR and TAR, provide personal care and general nursing care to residents as needed, and ensure delivery of services including activities of daily living, room cleanliness, scheduled activities, and dining services. You will meet each resident’s individualized service plan.
You will supervise self‑administered medication for the Assisted Living Department, ensure compliance with federal, state, and corporate guidelines, and handle ordering, receiving, verifying, storing, and inspecting medications and treatments. Responsibilities also include providing personal and nursing care, documenting daily logs, maintaining medication carts, attending training, and preparing medical charts for admissions within required timeframes.
- Supervise self‑administered medication for Assisted Living in compliance with federal, state, and company guidelines.
- Count, sign, and verify narcotics with approved personnel; report discrepancies immediately.
- Order medications and treatments; notify supervisor when supplies fall below 7 days and 2 days.
- Receive and verify medication deliveries against pharmacy labels and MAR; report any discrepancies.
- Store oral medications separately from lotions, ointments, and liquids; date opened vials per pharmacy protocol.
- Conduct weekly medication inspections to remove expired items.
- Compare new MARs with current ones at changeover and alert supervisor of differences.
- Remove discontinued medications from carts and hand them to supervisor.
- Provide personal care (bathing, grooming, incontinence, eating, etc.) to residents.
- Perform general nursing tasks such as taking vital signs, temperature, blood pressure, and weight.
- Document daily logs, notify supervisor of concerns, and answer resident calls.
- Clean and restock medication carts daily; perform deep cleaning weekly.
- Attend staff training and in‑services.
- Prepare and maintain medical charts for new admissions and readmissions within 48 hours.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience), at least one month of senior‑living experience, and a current Medication Technician certification where state regulations mandate it. Candidates must demonstrate basic computer proficiency, acceptable English communication, excellent interpersonal and time‑management skills, and a strong team‑oriented attitude.
