The EHS Coordinator II plays an essential role in establishing and promoting a culture of safety within assigned industrial service sites, ensuring compliance with internal EHS policies and external regulatory requirements. By conducting regular audits, providing training, and implementing EHS programs, the coordinator works to minimize risks, reduce workplace accidents, and maintain a safe, healthy environment for all employees. Collaboration with various departments and site leadership supports the organization’s commitment to proactive safety measures.
Core responsibilities include delivering site‑specific EHS training, enforcing the Site Safety Plan and federal regulations, performing daily inspections and audits, leading incident investigations with root‑cause analysis, and maintaining accurate records in the KPA system. The coordinator also facilitates communication between operations and H&S, partners with customers and regulatory agencies, and drives continuous improvement by applying industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Assist with EHS training programs covering emergency response, hazardous material handling, and equipment safety.
- Ensure all site employees complete required OSHA/MSHA training and participate in new‑hire orientations.
- Conduct daily safety meetings, drills, and provide educational materials to enhance hazard awareness.
- Enforce EHS policies, Site Safety Plan, client guidelines, and relevant federal regulations.
- Perform regular site inspections, audits, and monitor compliance with lockout‑tagout, permits, and work habits.
- Lead or participate in incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and coordinate timely medical care.
- Maintain accurate EHS records and documentation in KPA, generating daily safety reports.
- Establish clear communication between operations and H&S, acting as a constructive safety partner.
- Liaise with customers' safety teams and regulatory agencies, facilitating inspections and audits.
- Drive continuous improvement by staying informed on industry best practices and implementing new strategies.

Candidates must hold a Construction Site Safety Technician (CSST) or equivalent certification, OSHA 30, and have a minimum of three years experience in heavy‑industrial construction, including at least two years in a safety role. Required skills include strong knowledge of OSHA/MSHA regulations, incident investigation, risk‑assessment methodologies, and excellent verbal and written communication. Physical abilities to climb ladders, navigate difficult terrain, lift up to 50 lb, and a valid driver’s license are also necessary.
- Hold CSST or equivalent certification and OSHA 30; minimum three years industrial construction experience.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of OSHA/MSHA regulations, incident investigation techniques, and risk‑assessment methods.
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to build relationships at all organizational levels.
- Possess certifications such as First Aid/CPR; MSHA certification preferred; proficient in MS Office and safety software.
- Physically capable of climbing ladders, walking long periods, working in trenches, lifting 1‑50 lb, and holding a valid driver’s license.
