As a people manager, the Design Manager oversees the day‑to‑day operations of the design team, ensuring high‑quality, code‑compliant, and client‑aligned workplace designs. The role is responsible for maintaining consistency, accuracy, and adherence to workplace guidelines across all projects.
Leadership duties involve supervising individual contributors, acting as the escalation point, mentoring designers, and providing continuous performance feedback. The manager prioritizes skill development, identifies bottlenecks, escalates issues promptly, and coordinates communication with internal teams, clients, vendors, and partners to meet service level agreements.
The manager also owns design best practices, collaborates with the Program Manager and Director to document and update standards, and evaluates scope changes for feasibility. Responsibilities include workforce planning, budget execution, timely hiring, attrition management, and ensuring accurate entry into MxT for month‑end closeout.
Candidates must hold a degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field and possess at least six years of experience in interior or systems‑furniture design. Required skills include strong AutoCAD/BIM proficiency, knowledge of building codes, experience delivering client drawing packages, workflow management, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Splice offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 15 days of PTO, nine paid holidays, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match, paid parental leave, a wellness app reimbursement up to $500 per year, and profit sharing.
