  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align employee relations strategies with business goals
  • Provide coaching and performance management support to leaders
  • Design and deliver employee relations training and resources, including national travel to lead in-person HR trainings focused on employee relations and managerial best practices
  • Act as trusted advisor to senior management regarding judgement, communication and support to drive consistency.
  • Provide clear, concise, and professional communication in all interactions and documentation
  • Coordinate with national Employee Relations and Leave of Absence teams to maintain collaboration and facilitate decision making
  • Attend company events and outings regularly to build rapport and strengthen relationships with leaders across the organization
  • Recommend and implement process improvements
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures
  • Partner with corporate, regional, and divisional leadership to investigate and resolve complex employee relations issues
  • Draft and review employee relations communications and disciplinary actions
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of employment laws and compliance requirements, including EEOC, FMLA, ADA, state pay equity, and leave of absence processes, to ensure alignment with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Conduct thorough and timely investigations, including interviews and documentation
  • Conduct employee separations as needed
  • Analyze trends from exit interviews and surveys to improve retention
  • Advise managers and HR staff on employee relations best practices

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • PHR or SHRM certification strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel nationally (up to 25%)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
  • Ability to handle confidential information with great sensitivity
  • Experience with Taleo and PeopleSoft strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of Employee Relations and HR Management experience, including advising and counseling managers and employees on employee relations issues, administering discipline and grievance processes, performance management, and developing personnel policies
  • Must be able to work on-site at the D.R. Horton corporate office in Arlington, TX
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and employee relations
