The role involves evaluating marine structures and bridges through above‑ and underwater inspections, preparing reports, and developing structural repair designs. Modern workflows include field tablets, drones, nondestructive testing, marine mapping, imaging, analysis, and modeling tools. The successful candidate will progress to an Inspection Team Leader position.
- Conduct and/or supervise site investigations of marine structures and bridges.
- Ensure scope of work is fulfilled and deliverables are submitted on schedule and within budget.
- Collaborate with inspection team members and other engineering disciplines.
- Analyze deteriorated components of marine structures to assess load capacity.
- Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and supporting documentation.
- Assist in business development activities such as proposals and cost estimates for the Inspection & Rehabilitation Discipline in Louisiana.
- Field work involves diving in water and exposure to extreme elements.
- Manage multiple simultaneous priorities.
- Carry diving and inspection equipment over unpaved, rural, and unmarked terrain.

They are seeking experienced Structural Engineer Divers for their Baton Rouge or New Orleans, LA office. The Engineer Diver will join a professional engineering dive team providing consulting services primarily in Louisiana, with occasional travel throughout the U.S. and abroad.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer licensure in Louisiana or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months.
- Certified Commercial Diver (ADCI, HSE, DCBC, IMCA, ADAS, or US military equivalent).
- NHI/NBIS bridge inspection qualifications a plus.
- 4 to 10 years of related experience.
- Proven experience in above/below water engineering inspections.
- Capability to lead and work effectively as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain Class D license.
- Boater Safety Card preferred.
- Willingness to travel; typical travel up to 1–2 weeks.
- Ability to obtain US Navy security clearances (preferred).
- Ability to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within months of hire.
- Current First Aid, CPR, AED, and Oxygen Administration certification preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
- Good planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Pass pre‑employment drug screen and background check per NIST 800‑171.
- Eligibility for E‑Verify and legal work authorization in the U.S.
- ADCI (or equivalent) diving demands specific physical conditioning and strength.
- Lift, carry, climb, and navigate in a small boat.
