The Controller will join a high‑performing operational team delivering construction projects in Ontario, reporting to the Senior Director of Finance from the Mississauga office. In this role, the Controller provides project‑accounting leadership, ensuring accurate cost management, forecasting and financial reporting for district projects.

Manage project financials including gross profit, percent‑complete forecasts, WIP, AR, IFRS 15 revenue recognition and backlog.
Audit project P&L reports for accuracy and compliance with policies and accounting standards.
Monitor profitability and claims to identify risks, opportunities, and accounting positions.
Lead quarter‑end and year‑end close processes for district projects with reconciliations and reporting.
Supervise, coach and mentor district finance staff to achieve high performance.
Oversee IFRS 16 lease management and reporting.
Provide financial insights to project managers, construction directors and stakeholders for planning and execution.
Ensure compliance with regulations, internal controls and external audit requirements.
Support development and implementation of financial systems and process improvements.
Partner with operational leadership to deliver accurate monthly forecasting.
Assist with quarterly reporting, analysis and annual business‑plan development.
Monitor district cash flow and working‑capital.
Liaise with internal and external auditors.
Participate in finance‑wide process improvement, system optimization and strategic initiatives.
Perform ad‑hoc financial assignments and projects as needed.

CPA or comparable professional designation.
Minimum 20 years of project financial management experience.
At least 15 years of supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts and delivery models (IPD, alliances, joint ventures).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems; experience in multi‑company environments.
Prior construction or public‑company experience is a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication; customer‑service orientation and team player.
Ability to handle high‑volume work, meet deadlines, and maintain detail‑oriented accuracy.
Skilled at building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines and dynamic conditions.
Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
