Project Field Engineer

Description

You will work closely with field supervision and project management to track progress, manage documentation, and support on-site construction teams from project startup through final completion.

• Provide schedule and progress updates to field leadership and project management
• Track daily/weekly production metrics and prepare progress reports
• Support tracking of as-builts, material delivery, and final documentation
• Help maintain internal budget tracking and cost awareness
• Attend and support field progress meetings with internal teams and client stakeholders
• Work closely with field crews to provide technical and administrative support
• Assist with RFIs, change orders, and cost assessments as needed
• Summarize and submit time & material requests and related documentation
• Review and manage construction documentation, drawings, permits, and records throughout project lifecycle
• Identify out-of-scope work and communicate with the appropriate team members

Requirements

• ~90% onsite field presence required
• A team-oriented mindset with the ability to support and collaborate across multiple site teams
• Must be flexible to travel across Southern & Central California when required
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and project-related software applications (e.g., BlueBeam, cloud-based systems)
• Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings
• Early start times common (e.g., 6 AM–3 PM)
• Highly organized, proactive, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred — OR relevant renewable energy/construction experience
• Strong communication skills — both written and verbal
