The role requires traveling to job sites to use specialized equipment for locating and marking all underground utilities and structures, troubleshooting with industry knowledge and attention to detail, and maintaining professional communication with site contacts, customers, and co-workers to ensure safe, accurate outcomes.

• Locate and mark underground utilities using EM, GPR, drone mapping, and robotic camera inspection.
• Travel daily to diverse job sites, including those with abandoned or exotic utilities.

Requirements

The technicians at Blood Hound average five years of field experience and receive ongoing comprehensive training and stringent certifications, ensuring the safest and highest-quality service. Candidates must have at least two years of experience as a public or private utility locator with proven accuracy, experience across multiple utility types, strong communication and customer service skills, proficiency with Windows computers and Microsoft Office, and a willingness to learn new technologies. They must uphold the core values of Safety, Pride, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence, manage their workload independently, be available for daily travel, overtime, after-hours, and occasional overnight assignments, and pass a fit-to-work physical.

• Troubleshoot with advanced observational, problem-solving, and deductive reasoning skills to ensure safety and accuracy.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a public or private utility locator; engineering/SUE experience a plus.
• Proven ability to locate multiple utility types in varied environments with high accuracy.
• Strong communication, customer-service, and technology proficiency (Windows, Microsoft Office).
• Ability to work overtime, after‑hours, and occasional overnight travel; pass a fit‑to‑work physical.
