  • Coordinate with drafters to develop and complete project drawing packages.
  • Review, analyze, and correct deficiencies in technical drawings and system diagrams to provide red lines and As-Builts.
  • Work in tight, cramped spaces such as equipment racks (IT) rooms and closets
  • Develop material requirements and equipment requirements,
  • Work on ladders and/or move up and down steep staircases as required
  • Provides technical solutions and recommendations to resolve installation discrepancies.
  • Terminate, splice, test, maintain, and repair fiber optic (including fusion splicing), copper, and coaxial cabling

  • RF, multi-pin and fiber optic cable and connector building expert.
  • Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience of inside plant operation and maintenance experience, installation, testing, and repair of telecommunications equipment and systems.
  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Experience reading installation drawings and tech manuals.
  • Proven knowledge of wired/wireless equipment installation and basic testing methods and procedures.
  • Knowledge of DOD DATA centers.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
  • ETA Certified Fiber Optic Designer
  • Strong coordination, organization, teaming, and communication abilities
  • Ability to carry 50 pounds unaided or 90-pound loads aided.
  • Proven knowledge of aspects of infrastructure and network cabling. Following best industry practices for infrastructure cabling and wiring within a variety of environments.
  • Specific knowledge of operating principles of wired, wireless and RF environments
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
  • Working Knowledge of SPAWAR SIPH (Shore Installation Process Handbook)
  • Knowledge of C4I systems.
  • Must be able to use tools and test equipment
  • Current Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) certifications.
  • Works well individually or in a team environment
  • Electronic Technicians Association (ETA) Certified Fiber Optic Installer.
  • Working knowledge of OSP/ISP voice and network cabling, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
