The AECOM Advisory Consulting Internship offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced consulting practice covering economic analysis, urban planning, climate and sustainability, public policy, and data science. Interns work alongside peers, junior staff, and senior managers on projects addressing equitable, sustainable economic development, real‑estate development, climate advisory, and economic diversification.
Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in economics, urban planning, public policy, finance, business, real estate, environmental science, climate and sustainability, or a related field, with at least three years of study completed. Recent graduates who plan to continue with a master’s degree are also eligible.
Preferred qualifications include enrollment in a master’s program in a relevant discipline, experience with quantitative and qualitative analyses, cash‑flow modeling in Excel, critical policy analysis, and strong written communication. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and technical skills in ArcGIS, statistical software (STATA, R, Python), data visualization, and economic impact modeling tools (RIMS II, IMPLAN, REMI) are valued.
- Pursue a bachelor's degree (minimum three years completed) in economics, urban planning, public policy, finance, business, real estate, environmental science, climate/sustainability, or a related field.
- Recent graduates eligible if planning to continue with a master's degree.
- Preferred: enrollment in a master’s program and experience with quantitative/qualitative analysis, cash‑flow modeling, policy analysis, and effective writing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
