Technical Services - Lead and be responsible for a variety of technical planning services including general transportation planning, transit planning, project development, master planning, Direct experience in successfully delivering transportation studies, feasibility studies, alternatives analysis, environmental impact statements and assessments and leadership for multi-discipline projects with high degrees of technical complexity and multidisciplinary project teams.
Foster a collaborative and innovative environment, encouraging team members to develop their skills and deliver high-quality work.
Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including governmental agencies, developers, and community representatives.
Oversee all phases of planning projects, from conception through execution and completion.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring efficient and effective project delivery.
Develop business strategies to grow the civil planning practice, including identifying new markets and service opportunities.
Participate in proposal writing and presentations to win new projects.
Practice leadership - Working with practice and office leadership, focus on client development, business development and industry participation. A key focus of practice building is mentorship and skill development of professional staff.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices, integrating innovative solutions into project approaches.
Develop and implement the vision for the planning practice within the organization.
Client relationship development and Business Development- Develop and nurture key client relationships and leverage existing client relationships for future work opportunities. Lead and/or support the direction of pursuit strategies and preparation of proposals
Provide technical guidance to the team, drawing on expertise in planning, engineering, zoning, land use, and environmental considerations.

AICP or PE professional certification.
Demonstrated planning practice development and management capability.
Professional Licensure and Society Memberships
Twenty (20) years of experience in transportation planning or a closely related field, with professional experience in both the public sector and private-sector consulting.
Proven project management skills, with experience overseeing complex transportation projects.
Smart Cities experience is preferred.
Bachelors or Masters of Science degree in planning or engineering curriculum. Masters preferred.
A strong reputation with major clients, knowledge of market opportunities in Oregon, Washington, California and surrounding states, and a facility for business development and winning project work.
Direct experience in successfully delivering transportation studies, feasibility studies, alternatives analysis, environmental impact statements and assessments and leadership for multi-discipline projects with high degrees of technical complexity and multidisciplinary project teams.
