- Performs field quality control tests of concrete and masonry construction.
- Transports equipment, test specimens and/or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provides physical assistance in equipment set-up.
- Relays information to project manager and/or engineer, with limited in-field decision making.
- Follows Atlas’ safety policies and procedures.
- Performs construction-related field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager and Senior Engineer.
- Performs field density testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials.
- Assists other technicians or professional staff on tasks, and supports other departments as necessary.
- Enters daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically.

- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Materials Laboratory experience would be a plus.
- Physical strength, stamina and dexterity to lift and move 50 lbs, stoop, bend, and stand throughout the course of a day in varying weather conditions in varying terrain.
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade 1
- Valid driver’s license.
- Secondary education within the field. e.g. Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, etc.
- Nuclear Gauge User Safety Certification (NEPA, FERC etc.)EPA, FERC etc.)
- Valid ICC, NICET, NETTCP, or other pertinent industry certifications.
- Ability to follow Atlas' QC plan and SOP's
- Works well independently.
- Special Inspection experience including Firestop, FF/FL, RH & pH, Bolting Insp
- Must be willing to travel near the reporting office and surrounding areas as required by assignments.
- 1 year minimum experience with concrete, masonry, soils, and asphalt testing and Inspections.
- Mentorship and training support of other technicians and interns.
