The Project Engineer provides technical support for project evaluation, coordination, and information distribution, maintaining documentation to ensure compliance, budget, and schedule. The role requires independent judgment, including running design or construction meetings, conducting field checks, preparing reports and correspondence, and coordinating with the design team for conformance reviews and timely responses to RFIs, submittals, and change documents. This position also oversees project file management in both electronic and paper formats.
- Evaluate contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications for compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain and monitor document and project control systems to ensure procedural compliance.
- Document, administer, and track information from project meetings and status updates.
- Verify contractor, architect, and engineer compliance with safety, performance, staffing, and equipment requirements.
- Analyze change orders independently and recommend actions to project leadership.
- Manage project closeout, securing punch‑list resolution, warranties, guarantees, and as‑built documents for handover.
- Coordinate data exchange and approvals among owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct design team conformance reviews and provide timely responses to RFIs, submittals, and change documents.
- Perform field inspections on construction, demolition, rehabilitation, or alteration projects to confirm specification compliance.
- Deliver services that uphold the quality standards of Vanir’s projects.
- Represent Vanir professionally, adhering to company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.

- Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, project management, or a related technical field (preferred).
- Possess at least three years of experience in commercial, public, or educational construction project management.
- Apply knowledge of construction estimating, cost control, scheduling, documentation, and engineering principles.
- Understand basic accounting, cost management, and administrative functions in professional settings.
- Demonstrate strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Primavera, and e‑builder.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or similar credential is preferred.
